Hush push: Innovative fire alarm solution for Cheshire apartment block Solid State has completed its first 'Hush Button' installation at a prestigious 32-bedroom housing development in Cheshire. White Cross Court in Newton now has a series of BS5839 part 6 compliant Hush Buttons throughout the building. Fire cracker: Carlisle Hospital Cumberland Royal Infirmary is just one of Solid State’s many NHS clients. The Infirmary, along with West Cumberland Hospital, provides a range of services for approximately 324,000 people. Solid State installed a fully networked 22-panel fire alarm system at the Hospital to provide patients and visitors with complete protection in the event of a fire. With 200 devices on each panel, the system is also serviced and maintained by Solid State. |

Star performer: Star City, Birmingham A revolutionary SigNET SS2N multi-zone voice alarm system has been installed by Solid State at Star City, a vast entertainment complex in the Birmingham. The powerful satellite system covers a network of 26 leisure/retail units including the 30 screen Vue Cinema, Burger King, a 22-lane Mega Bowl and Virgin Active Gym. Seven C-TEC PDA1000 induction loop systems for the hard of hearing have also been installed to cover all public areas. |

Millennium magic: Digital voice alarm system for Millennium Point 54 SigNET SS2N voice alarm units and over 1000 speakers were installed by Solid State in a major project at Millennium Point, a flagship Birmingham site built to celebrate and encourage science and education. Making merry: Merry Hill Shopping Centre, Birmingham SigNET’s highly sophisticated SS2N life safety voice evacuation system is the powerful force now operating at Birmingham’s Merry Hill Shopping Centre following a major project by Solid State. The SS2N network utilises digitally stored messages resulting in the intelligibility, clarity and audibility critical for a life safety system in a large shopping complex. Messages suffer no interference or degradation over long distances, even when many buildings are linked on one network. Merry Hill is home to an Odeon cinema and a number of larger shops such as Primark, Next, Marks and Spencer and Debenhams. Solid State not only carried out the entire installation but is also responsible for all services and maintenance at the Centre. |
