Village people - addressable call system installed at £7m health facility

Solid State has completed a major installation at Widnes Healthcare Village, a £7M nursing/care complex in the heart of Cheshire.

C-TEC’s market-leading addressable call system, Quantec, was the kit of choice at the new specialist care facility which spans five buildings and offers multi-disciplinary care for the elderly, infirm and mental health patients.

Five Quantec addressable call systems are now installed on the 187-room site, providing maximum security and protection for patients and staff alike. Each utilizes Quantec’s optional staff protection facility, Responder, which allows staff to highlight exactly where an incident is taking place. All ‘at risk’ personnel carry a panic attack/radio transmitter which can be activated within each facility and in external courtyard areas if necessary.

Says Solid State Regional Project Engineer, Liam Ogden, who oversaw the entire installation: ‘Quantec was the obvious choice for this project as the system can be easily tailored to suit a care facility’s specific requirements. For example, different day, night and call divert arrangements now meet the exact operational needs and precise layout of the site. Another key selling point of Quantec is that it is also incredibly easy to use with simple call/reset functions’.
