Solid State has equipped two state-of-the-art NHS Health Centres in Lancashire with a wealth of sophisticated life-safety equipment.
After numerous setbacks due to lack of funding, construction of the multi-million pound facilities in Colne and Great Harwood was finally given the go-ahead last year. Now the supersize medical centres are up-and-running and encompass everything from doctors’ surgeries to speech therapists and podiatry services.
Solid State was tasked with furnishing both centres with complete security systems including stand-alone access control, anti-vandal day/night CCTV, video and audio door entry and powerful alarms to ward off potential intruders. The systems at both sites are monitored remotely 24 hours a day via Solid State’s NSI Gold-approved Alarm Receiving Centre.
C-TEC’s Quantec addressable call systems, disabled refuge systems and PDA induction loop amplifiers for the hard of hearing have also been installed at each centre to provide additional assistance for the disabled, infirm and elderly.
Said Nigel Thomas, Solid State’s Project Manager: “As the challenge was to simultaneously complete the installations at Colne and Great Harwood to tight deadlines, the fact that we successfully finished both centres on time and within budget is further evidence of our excellent project management skills.”
